To play Blasonia, you only need to understand one loop: every round, you spend your gold to buy heroes and level up, you place them on the board, then the fight plays out on its own. Managing that gold well is the heart of the strategy. This page is part of the Blasonia guide; it covers every rule with the values used in the game. Blasonia is free on Windows PC: download it from the game page.
How a match unfolds
Six players start with 100 health points, at level 1, with one cost-1 hero on the bench. The match is split into stages:
- Stage 1 (rounds 1 to 3): three fights against monsters, with no health lost. They give you your first item components.
- Later stages, six rounds each: the first round opens with the Hero Market, the second offers a blessing (in stages 2, 3 and 4), rounds 1 to 5 are duels against another player, and the sixth pits everyone against monsters.
Your opponents are drawn at random, never the same one twice in a row. When an odd number of players remain, one of them faces the Echo of an opponent, a copy of that opponent's last board: only the player can lose health in that fight.
Planning lasts 20 seconds in the first three rounds, 30 seconds in Hero Market or blessing rounds, and 25 seconds otherwise. A fight lasts 30 seconds at most; after 20 seconds, damage ramps up very quickly to settle it. If the timer runs out, the game fills your board with the best heroes from your bench.
The Hero Market
At the Hero Market, as many heroes are offered as there are players still alive, each with an item component. The player with the fewest health points picks first, then the others in order of increasing health: it's a way to help you get back into the match.
Gold: income, interest and streaks
Every round gives you gold, based on the gold you've kept:
| Source | Gold |
|---|---|
| Base income | 2 gold in round 1, 3 in round 2, 4 in round 3, then 5 |
| Interest | 1 gold for every 10 gold kept, 5 at most (at 50 gold) |
| Win or loss streak | 2 or 3 in a row: +1; 4: +2; 5 or more: +3 |
| Win in the previous round | +1 |
A draw resets your streak. Economy blessings can add gold every round or raise the interest cap.
Tip: stay above the 10-gold thresholds (10, 20, 30, 40, 50). A losing streak pays as much as a winning streak, but it costs health: only keep it going if you still have a comfortable margin.
Spending gold: rerolls, experience and selling
- Rerolling the shop costs 2 gold: five new heroes.
- Buying experience costs 4 gold for 4 points; you also gain 2 points per round from round 2 onward.
- Selling a hero returns its cost at one star, 3 × cost − 1 at two stars, and 9 × cost − 1 at three stars. Its items go back to your item bench.
Levels
Your level sets the number of heroes on the board (one hero per level, up to 9) and the odds of each cost in the shop. The bench has 9 slots.
| To reach level | Experience needed |
|---|---|
| 2 | 2 |
| 3 | 2 |
| 4 | 6 |
| 5 | 10 |
| 6 | 20 |
| 7 | 36 |
| 8 | 56 |
| 9 | 80 |

Heroes come from a shared pool for all players: with six players, there are 19 copies of each cost-1 hero, 14 of each cost-2, 10 of each cost-3, 7 of each cost-4 and 5 of each cost-5. If two players are chasing the same hero, it gets scarcer.
Stars
Three identical copies merge into two stars: health and damage multiplied by 1.8, ability 1.5 times stronger. You then choose the hero's Path A or Path B. Three two-star copies of the same path make three stars (×3.24 and ×2.25). Paths are detailed on the page on Blasonia heroes.
Damage from a loss
A lost duel costs a base amount that depends on the stage, plus 1 point for each enemy hero still standing:
| Stage | Base damage |
|---|---|
| 1 | 0 |
| 2 | 2 |
| 3 | 4 |
| 4 | 6 |
| 5 | 8 |
| 6 | 11 |
| 7 and later | 15 |
A draw costs both players the base minus 1. Against monsters, a loss costs nothing in stage 1, then 2 points plus 1 per monster still standing. Final placement follows the order of elimination; the last three players alive win chests (see leagues, chests and seasons).
Frequently asked questions
When should you level up?
The shop odds are part of the answer: cost-4 heroes only appear from level 4, and cost-5 heroes from level 6. Leveling early strengthens your board; saving gold earns interest. Your team's synergies, described on the synergies page, help you decide.
What happens if my bench is full?
If you buy the third copy of a hero, it merges right away, even with a full bench. At the Hero Market, a player with a full bench receives the hero's cost in gold.
Do monsters drop items?
Yes. Each monster round gives at least one component, one more if you win from stage 2 onward, plus gold. The recipes are on the items and blessings page.
